A CSIRO-developed variety suited to Australian conditions. Requires hot summers and cold winters with 1000 chill hours, making it well suited to areas of the Wheatbelt and Goldfields. Tolerant of salinity, drought and heat. Pistachios alternately bear lots of nuts one year, then very little the following year.

Size & Habit: Up to 10m tall and 8m wide, spreading, often wider than tall
Flower: Green/ red clusters
Fruit: Green kernel, mildly sweet and nutty
Skin: Papery, purple with a tan shell
Cropping: Late summer to early autumn
Harvest/Maturity: Will take up to seven years to become productive
Pollination: Wind pollinated, plant males upwind of females, one male can pollinate up to 20 females.
Uses: Adding to savory and sweet dishes, eating as a snack, used in a variety of Middle Eastern recipes
