A fine powder of Kaolinite clay that should be mixed with water to create a spray. The spray should be applied to branches, tree trunks and foliage. It acts as both a sun screen and a barrier against insects like Citrus Gall Wasp and scale.
When used as a ‘sunscreen’ on plants, it reflects damaging UV rays but still allows light to enter the leaves (so does not stop photosynthesis or block stomata – the ‘breathing’ openings).
To use: Mix 50g clay per 1l of water and stir thoroughly. Pour into spray bottle and shake vigorously. Spay immediately over the plants ensuring good coverage, until at drip point. Flush equipment after using to ensure the clay does not dry and clog nozzles and tubes.
During spring and early summer when Citrus Gall Wasp are active repeat applications every 2-4 weeks with a half strength spray (25g/1l).
This product is non-toxic to humans and animals. Avoid breathing the fine particles by wearing a dust mask and not using in windy conditions. Store in dry conditions in a sealed container.
