Prunus lusitanica – ‘Portuguese Laurel’

Price range: $24.99 through $29.99

A versatile plant that can be trained into a tree or grown as a large shrub for hedging and screening. It is able to grow up to 15m but is more likely to stay at about 9m or less in Perth. It produces long sprays of white flowers in spring which are followed by ornamental black berries. 

It is a great plant to use for hedging, screening and topiary. It can also be pruned into a small tree, it has an attractive umbrella canopy and makes a great shade tree.

It should be planted in a full sun position in well drained soils. It is drought tolerant once established and able to be planted near the coast.
