Philodendron – ‘Imperial Red’

FEATURES: The striking appearance of this plant makes it a coveted variety. The colour variations allow this impressive plant to enhance a variety of decors as it moves seamlessly through shades of greens and burgundies. A compact habit, meaning it does not vine or climb, making it ideal for smaller space initially.

HEIGHT X WIDTH: 60cm x 60cm 

POSITION: Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct light. Leaf colour may become dull in insufficient light.

FOLIAGE: Large, long and leathery, heart shaped leaves. This plants ability to maintain multiple shades of red and green at the same time add to its ornamental appeal.

USES: Houseplant, table top feature, statement floor plant as a more mature plant, beginner plant gift, under planting, containers, shaded understory planting.

COMMENTS: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Pot in organic rich, free draining soil. Fertilize with a water soluble fertiliser every 4-6 weeks in spring and summer. Water when top inch of soil is dry. Protect from frost. Forgiving of occasional neglect. Repot when the plant is rootbound, in spring or summer.
