Nelumbo nucifera – ‘Sacred Lotus’

A stunning water plant that will be a show stopper in your garden with round leaves held high above the water and stunning double blooms in summer.

This variety is a dwarf, only growing to 50cm tall making it perfect for small containers. During winter they go into dormancy but will regrow in spring with fresh new leaves ready to wow you with blooms all summer.

They prefer to grow in shallow water to a depth of about 30cm and need at least 6 hours of full sun per day for best blooming, but it is best to have them protected from hot Perth summer afternoon sun and drying winds. They should be fertilised once a year with slow release fertiliser.
