An evergreen native tree with glossy, dark green foliage and a spreading, open to dense canopy. It flowers in spring producing sprays of scented white flowers followed by the delicious nuts. This cultivar was developed in Hawaii and produces consistently even as the tree ages. In most locations in Western Australia these trees will require irrigation.
Position: Full sun, protect from stong winds and hot summer afternoon sun while young.
Size & Habit: Medium to large tree up to 20m but can be pruned to maintain it at a smaller size. Spreading with an open to dense canopy.
Flower: White spray, spring, sweet scent, late season
Fruit: Medium to large, creamy white
Skin: Smooth shell
Cropping: Autumn to winter, mid to late season
Harvest/Maturity: Can take up to 5 years to fruit
Pollination: Some self pollination, useful as a pollinator for other varieties
Uses: Eating raw or roasted, adding into savory dishes, deserts or baked goods.
