Tropical tree native to Brazil with stunning ornamental dappled bark, giving rise to it’s common name “Leopard Tree”. Relatively hardy, best in a sunny but protected position in full sun to partial shade. Plant in well-drained improved soil, mulch well. Protect from frost. Deciduous to semi-deciduous

Height: Can reach up to 12m but generally a much smaller tree in Perth’s climate.

Width: 5m

Growth Rate: Slow to moderate.

Foliage: Feathery leaves emerge bronze then change to dark green.

Flower: Yellow pea-like flowers are produced in bunches during summer, followed by dark brown seed pods

Bark: Brown grey bark exfoliates in patches to reveal cream and grey under bark, giving a dappled appearance.
