A popular but unusual citrus used in East Asian dishes. Its bitter/acidic flavour is not lost when cooked, making it a valuable addition to the kitchen garden.
Position: Full sun, do not plant under this tree as it has shallow roots and does not cope with root competition.

Flower: White, fragrant, spring and summer
Fruit: Medium, seedy, pale yellow, tart and refreshing flavour
Skin: Thick rind, deep yellow
Cropping: Autumn and winter
Harvest/Maturity: 2-3 years
Pollination: Self-fertile
Uses: Rind and juice are used to flavour dishes, desserts, drinks and to create preserves. It is not suitable for eating fresh.
