Citrus x – ‘Meyer’

Bears most of the year with its heaviest crop during winter, medium-sized thin-skinned fruit.  It is a lemon-orange hybrid, the fruit is quite sweet and is not used in cooking where a real tart lemony flavour is desired. 

Position: Full sun, one of the most cold-tolerant lemon varieties

Size & Habit: 4m x 4m, an upright spreading tree

Flower: White, strong sweet scent, year-round spot flowering 

Fruit: Yellow, juicy, low acidity

Skin: Orangey yellow, thin

Cropping: Will fruit year-round, but 

Harvest/Maturity: Will take up to two years to fruit

Pollination: Self-fertile

Uses: Flavouring dishes, drinks, and desserts, juice and zest can be used.
