A stunning large shrub or small tree growing to 4m tall and 4m wide. It is cultivated for it’s long pendant catkins which droop elegantly in winter-spring. It has evergreen foliage that is glossy, leathery and slightly wavy. The pendent grey-green catkins are petalless male flowers. It should be planted in a full sun to part shade position in well-drained soils.
