Finger Lime – Alstonville
Citrus australasica – ‘Alstonville’
Alstonville is a very slender small growing tree growing up to 1.5m tall and 1m wide. Ideal for small gardens, pots and containers. The brown skinned finger limes grow to 9cm long and hold tangy green pearls with few seeds. The fruit will ripen from March to May
Plant in a sunny warm position, protected from harsh winds and keep the water and fertiliser up over the warmer months. Fruit is ripe over the autumn, trees will begin to produce fruit in the 2nd autumn after they’ve been planted. Needs to be planted in a free draining soil with plenty of organic matter. Protect from frost.
