Eucalyptus – Vintage Red™
Eucalyptus caldocalyx – ‘Vintage Red™’
An eye-catching tree with purple foliage and deep wine bark that peels off to reveal a grey trunk. The new foliage produced by the tree is deep red. In spring the tree is covered in cream blooms that will attract birds and pollinating insects into the garden. The tree can grow to 8m tall and 4m wide but it responds well to pruning.
It is an exciting native tree for medium gardens as its foliage provides a lovely contrast against the green garden plants. It is a great specimen tree in parks, gardens and landscaping.
It should be planted in a full sun position in well draining soils. It will need regular water while establishing but once established will be drought tolerant.
