Ribes rubrum “Black Currant”

Price range: $34.99 through $39.99

Size: Small deciduous shrub growing to 1.5m H x 1m W. 

Fruit: Produces heavy bunches of small black berries in clusters.  

Maturity: Early January

Pollinators: Self fertile, however, sometimes an improved crop can be experienced when another variety is planted nearby.

Position: Plant in morning sun in a sheltered position that has protection for hot winds. Prune in winter. Frost tolerant.

Uses: Jam, juice, eaten fresh or made into sauce.
