Commonly known as ‘Rock Rose’, Cistus is an evergreen shrub originating from dry, rocky areas of the Canary Islands, Turkey and Northern Africa. They are suitable for Perth’s moderately fertile, free draining soil but do not like frost. They are grown for their large, saucer shaped flowers which brighten any garden in the warmer months. Each bloom lasts one day. Suitable for rockeries, cottage gardens, shruberies and borders.
