Attractive feature tree with stunning display of flowers in spring, suitable for small or large gardens.

Habit: 5m H x 5m W

Growth Rate: Slow

Foliage: Large heart-shaped dark green leaves along with ornamental seed pods, with yellow and orange autumn tones.

Flower: Deep red coloured buds open to small pink, pea-like flowers in clusters on bare branches in spring.

Bark: Dark reddish-brown to grey with age

Position: Tolerates a variety of soil types but does best in moist, deep, well-drained fertile soil. Dislikes a wet position. Avoid excessively hot or windy positions. Plant in full sun to part shade.
