Syzygium oleosum – Blue Lilly Pilly

Also known as a Lilly Pilly, this is a unique variation on the well known Red berry Lilly Pilly with edible blue-purple berries in summer. Apple-like in texture and with a tart sweetness, they may be eaten fresh or made into jams, jellies, muffins, cakes and wine.

Syzygium oleosum will reach 4-7m tall but can be hedged. Tolerates most conditions but prefers rich, well drained soils.
