Mangifera indica – ‘Bambaroo’

Price range: $119.99 through $159.99

A Kensington Pride variety producing medium sized fruit with sweet flesh. This variety is grafted onto dwarfing rootstock and can be grown in a large pot.

Position: Needs a full sun position with protection from wind, protect from frost

Size & Habit: Up to 7m, but can be maintained as low as 2m with yearly pruning.

Flower: Creamy green, insignificant

Fruit: Yellow, medium, sweet

Skin: Yellow with orange blush

Cropping: Late summer to autumn

Harvest/Maturity: It can take up to five years to produce its first harvest

Pollination: Self-fertile

Uses: Eating fresh, in salads, added to or flavouring desserts, and blended in smoothies. Fruit can also be harvested green and used for pickles or salads.
