“Marone” is a strong growing, very large spreading bell shaped tree.
Pollination: Recommended to plant at least two different varieties for best results.
Tree Habit: Growing to 10-15m H x 10m W.
Fruit: Very large smooth textured sweet nut with excellent flavour enclosed in a prickly green burr. Can take 4 years to bear nuts. Nuts are harvested after falling from the tree.
Maturity: Mid to late season, mid April.
Pollination: Recommended to plant at least two varieties for best results.
Position: Best grown in the Perth hills or in the South West of WA. Plant in a sunny position with well drained and well worked soil.
Uses: Best roasted.
