Large tree with a pyramidal shape and distrinctive branch structure

Height: 15m

Width: 8m

Growth Rate: Moderate

Foliage: Glossy dark green lobed leaves. Red to bronze during autumn, better colour produced in cooler areas. Dried brown leaves often persist over winter.

Flower: Catkins followed by small acorns

Bark: Dark grey brown, becoming ridged and rough with age

Tolerances: Adaptable to most positions from wet to dry. Tolerant to windy sites
