Clematis montana – ‘Mayleen’

A deciduous Clematis, ‘Mayleen’ will flower profusely in spring, with fragrant, vanilla scented, pink flowers, followed by tufty seed heads in autumn. A wonderful bee-attracting plant, ‘Mayleen’ can grow 6-8 metres in height and width in the right conditions!

Clematis likes to have its roots in a cool spot in the garden, and its head in the sun – keep the roots cool with mulch or the shade of other plants. Provide a support for her to reach her potential and enjoy the spectacular flower display once the plant has established. C. montana is in the group 1 pruning group for clematis, so only give a light prune after flowering. Plant into well draining, improved soil – a compost such as Greenlife Soil Co’s General Concentrate will do the trick!
