HEIGHT X WIDTH: 75cm x 3m

FOLIAGE: Pinnate, furred, silver green

FLOWER: Deep red with a black spot, spring to summer

POSITION: Full sun

USES: Groundcover, hanging baskets, pots and containers, native gardens

COMMENTS: Needs excellent drainage, is best planted into large pots/ tubs/ terracotta drainage pipes filled with free draining mix, is normally treated as an annual in the garden

SEED SOWING: Sow in spring and summer. Seeds need scarification for best germination, this is done by immersing the seed in boiling water, leave to soak in the cooling water overnight. Plant in good quality seed raising mix. Keep moist but not wet. Germination should be in 7 to 10 days.  It is best to plant where they are to grow as they resent root disturbance. If you need to start them in pots before planting into the garden, handle carefully when planting.
