Dark purple-violet flowers. The darkest single flowering wisteria variety.  Sometimes referred to as Japanese wisteria. A vigorous deciduous climber that need a large and strong support, it can be trained up as a standard on a pole support then allowed to canopy out giving a weeping tree effect. Leaves turn buttery yellow before falling in autumn.

Hanging racemes of fragrant dark purple-violet pea-like flowers are produced in early spring sometimes followed by hanging seed pods. Racemes can exceed 50cm in length. Plant in full sun.
