Teticornia lepidosperma – ‘WA Samphire’
$18.99 – $34.99
A protected native succulent plant with edible stems/leaves. The young green shoots are crisp and crunchy, similar to asparagus but with a salty flavour. Can be eaten raw or blanched. Harvesting the new growth will give the best flavour without damaging the plant growth. Adaptable to a wide range of conditions but does best in full to part sun in sandy free draining soil. This WA species requires less moisture than other species and will happily grow in drier conditions, however for best growth give a deep watering when dry.
Grows up to 50 cm high by 50-80 cm wide. Suitable for growing in pots.
