Curcuma longa – Turmeric

Price range: $19.99 through $54.99

A lush perennial herb that produces the fleshy rhizomes used commonly as fresh, or dried culinary spice and dye. Leaves are also used in cooking such as steaming fish.

Bears tall white flower stems.

Grow in a partly shaded position in moist, well-drained soil. Protect from hot sun. In cooler climates, plant will go dormant through winter.

Harvest rhizomes when leaves wither. Rhizome clumps to be broken up and replanted every few years. Grows 1 x 1.5m
