Lycopersicon esculentum – ‘Allan’s Early Red’

A determinate (bush) variety tomato. It fruits early in the season and produces masses of rich red fruit perfect for sauces, salads, chutney and drying. Modern heirloom is a term referring to open pollinated, free bred varieties cultivated after 1945. 

Position: Plant in an airy, sunny location in well-drained soils or large pots. A stake is optional.

Size: 1.4m H x 60cm W

Uses: Performs best when sun dried then used to make chutneys and sauces. Flavour is enhanced when paired with parsley, chives and celery leaf.
