A very versatile vegetable, excellent for flavouring many types of dishes. Can be used raw or cooked.
Round globe-shaped, small to medium bulbs with purple cloves displaying a rich, nutty flavour.
Plant in Autumn, harvest in late very late Spring/Summer
Separate cloves and plant individually approximately 8-10 cm apart, pointy end up to produce an abundant crop (rows 60cm apart). Cease watering a few weeks prior to harvest to ensure plants become dry and firm before lifting. Once foliage has died back, lift and store in a cool, dry environment.
