A long lasting plant that should be planted in improved soil in an area where it will not be disturbed. The leaves of this plant are toxic and should not be consumed. 

To harvest the stems they should be ripped off the plant rather than cut as cutting can lead to rot.

Position: Part shade, protect from full afternoon sun in summer

Size & Habit: 80cm x 80cm, 

Flower: Insignificant, should be removed

Fruit: Insignificant

Stems: Red fading to green near the leaves

Cropping: Year-round, harvest less in winter when it is not actively growing

Harvest/Maturity: Can be harvested 1 year after planting

Pollination: Self fertile

Uses: Can be used for cooking and baking, the leaves can be composted safely
