Delonix regia – ‘Poinciana – Red’

Price range: $29.99 through $299.99

The Poinciana tree is a stunning tropical tree for medium gardens. It has a broad growth habit, putting on more width than height. The semi-deciduous, soft mid-green, fern-like foliage compliments the stunning display of vibrant red flowers. May take several years to produce flowers. Not recommended for frost-prone areas.

Growth Rate: Moderate

Foliage: Rich green, feathery bi-pinnate leaves.

Bark: Greyish – brown

Flowers: Masses of bright red flowers in summer. Followed by ornate seed pods.

Requires rich, well draining soil with plenty of organic matter and moderate moisture. Prefers a pH of 6.5-7.
