Piper sarmentosum syn La Lot

A perennial vegetable with edible leaves that have a slightly spiced flavour. The leaves can be sliced into salads, added to cooked dishes or used to wrap fillings. The vine is vigorous and can grow from suckers so be mindful when planting directly into the garden.

Position: Full to dappled shade in moist, improved soils

Uses: The vine can be used as an attractive tropical groundcover or screen with the added bonus of the edible foliage.
