Philodendron verrusosum x melanochrysum – ‘Splendid’

A spectacular climbing plant with large leaves with an elongated heart shape. The leaves are a velvety and deep green with light veins. The backs of the leaves are a deep red which can turn the leaves a deep rusty red when the sun hits them at the right angle. If the plant is allowed to climb the leaves will increase in size and they can reach over 30cm long.

It is an excellent feature plant for a totem or large decorative pot. It can also be grown in shade or green houses outdoors which can help it reach its maximum size.

It should be planted in free draining potting mix in a bright, indirectly lit position.
