Carica papaya – ‘Papaya Bisexual Red’ 

$16.99 – $29.99

Position: Full sun, in an area protected from cold winds. Do not plant around the base of the tree as it has shallow feeder roots. 

Size & Habit: Can get up to 6m x 5m, it is an upright palm-like tree.

Flower: White clusters

Fruit: Orange red, juicy and sweet. 

Skin: Deep orange, thin 

Cropping: The fruit will ripen over the warmer months and once half of the fruit is coloured up it can be picked and ripened inside to prevent blemishes.

Harvest/Maturity: Will fruit the year after planting

Pollination: Self-fertile

Uses: Green fruit can be cooked or made into salads, ripe fruit can be eaten raw, put in salads or dried.
