Orthrosanthus multiflorus – ‘Morning Iris’

A pretty, native ornamental grass growing to 60cm tall and 50cm wide with long, slender green leaves. In spring deep blue flowers are produced on long stems above the foliage.

It is a lovely addition to cottage, coastal and native gardens. It can be grown as a border plant along pathways, in rockeries and in containers where it produces a lovely flower display.

It should be planted in a full sun to part shade position in well draining soils. It should be fertilised at the start of spring with native slow release fertiliser. Once flowering is finished the old flower stem and dead leaves should be trimmed off the plant.
