Davidsonia pruriens – ‘QLD Davidson’s Plum’

Produces tart plum like berries, rich in antioxidants and vitamins. Native to rainforests of Northern Queensland. Pendulous sprays of reddish flowers with yellow stamens appear from November to February, developing into fruit between February to May. Fruiting may extend into August in some years. Fruit is 50mm across with purple skin and red flesh.
Suitable for use in jams, jellies, cordials, wines and meat sauces.
Can reach a height of 4-6 m high by 2-4 m wide. Best grown in part shade, with protection from harsh sun, wind and frosts while young. Prefers a moist, fertile soil.
