Olearia – Little Smokie
Olearia axillaris – ‘Little Smokie’
A tough native shrub growing to 1m tall and 1m wide with furry, silver foliage. They produce insignificant flowers that are attractive to pollinating insects.
It is a great contrast shrub to use for hedging, mass plantings and using in verge plantings. It is also very hardy, suitable for coastal and water wise gardens.
It prefers a position in full sun in well draining soils. It should be watered regularly until established and fertilised with a slow release fertiliser in spring.
