Drought tolerant, ornamental tall heirloom vegetable grown for the long, edible seed pods and hibiscus like flowers. 

Position: Heat and drought tolerant, requires rich well drained soil with protection against strong winds. 

Uses: Mild flavour similar to eggplant with a sticky texture. Good thickener for soups and stews. Cook at high temperature, grilled or steamed.
