Maranta leuconeura var. Erythroneura – ‘Red Veined Prayer Plant’

The Prayer Plant (actually a name for many different Maranta) is an attractively patterned indoor plant, with an idiosyncratic ability to fold its leaves up at night, as if in ‘prayer’.

Marantas appreciate a warm, protected indoor position with bright, indirect light. A little sensitive to tap water, these plants may respond well to watering with filtered water. Water before the soil completely dries, and fertilise occasionally with a quality liquid fertiliser.
