Deciduous Magnolias are known for their spectacular display of flowers during late winter through to early spring. Needs a sunny but protected spot in Perth and may be tricky to grow in some areas. Best in the Perth hills or further down south.

A deciduous shrub or tree growing to a height of 10 metres, that has sweetly scented pretty, goblet shaped, white flowers in the early Spring, borne before the plant comes into leaf. Leaves in Spring are a shiny dark green.

HEIGHT x WIDTH: 10 metres x 5 metres

SHAPE: Vase Shaped.

FOLIAGE: Leaves in Spring are a shiny dark green.

FLOWERS: Sweetly scented pretty, goblet shaped, white flowers in the early Spring.

COMMENTS: Prefers an acid soil with good drainage and shelter from wind, so that flowers are not damaged while blooming, fertilize and prune to shape after flowering if required. Will flower in about 3 years.
