Citrus sp. – ‘Kusaie’

Ripening to yellow, the fruit is acidic and juicy with a tasty lime flavour. Generally the limes are smaller than the Tahitian. Cold resistant. Grafted onto semi-dwarf rootstock this variety is perfect for pots or smaller gardens.

Position: Full sun, plant into improved, well-draining soil

Size & Habit: 2-2.5m tall x 2-2.5m wide, semi-dwarf

Flower: White, scented

Fruit: Small, round, mildly acidic and tangy

Skin: Smooth, thin 

Cropping: Fruit is borne over a long period with the main crop produced in summer.

Harvest/Maturity: Will take up to two years to fruit

Pollination: Self-fertile

Uses: Flavouring drinks, dishes, and desserts. Mainly used fresh but can be preserved.
