Leucophyllum frutescens – ‘Texas Sage’

A tough large shrub with silvery leaves and a dense growth habit. It can grow to 2.5m tall and 1.8m wide but it can be pruned to keep it smaller and bushier. In autumn and summer after rain it produces tubular purple flowers which attract birds and bees into the garden.

It is a great hardy informal hedge or screen in the garden and can also be an attractive potted display. It is perfect for a waterwise garden in sandy soils.

It needs excellent drainage and a full sun position. It does not have any major pests or diseases making it perfect for low maintenance gardens.
