Lemon Balm is a member of the mint family and is a perennial herb. It grows as a bushy, leafy herb with a pleasant lemon smell and small white flowers. A clump-forming herbaceous perennial with heart shaped, deeply veined leaves that are covered with stiff hairs.
Position: Grows well in part shade. Prefers rich moist soil.  

Uses: It is considered a ‘calming’ herb and has been used for centuries to reduce stress and anxiety, promote sleep, improve appetite and ease indigestion. The delicate lemon flavour has wide culinary potential. Can be added fresh to sweet or tangy dishes, as a garnish or in drinks.
