Citrus _ microcarpa – ‘Variegated Calamondin syn. Calamansi’

A handsome, small feature tree that has lovely variegated green and cream foliage as well as faint striping on immature fruit. 

Position: Full sun, protected from cold winds, plant in well drained improved soil. Does not like root competition so avoid underplanting.

Size & Habit: 3m tall x 3m wide, upright habit

Flower: White, strong sweet scent, spring

Fruit: Orange, small, sour flesh

Skin: Deep orange when mature, thin, sweet 

Cropping: Winter

Harvest/Maturity: Will take up to two years to fruit

Pollination: Self fertile

Uses: Flavouring dishes, drinks and desserts, preserves, used in South East Asian cuisine
