Carpobrotus virescens – ‘Karkalla’

Karkalla produces small sweet fruits the size of grapes that can be eaten fresh or dried. The succulent leaves of the plant can also be eaten raw or cooked, or use the fleshy pulp as an ointment similar to Aloe Vera.

Karkalla grows as a groundcover, with a spread of up to 3m.
