Sometimes referred to as Licorice Mint, Anise Hyssop is a tough herbaceous perennial plant with purple-blue anise scented flowers in late summer. A beautiful feature in the garden when many other plants may be struggling in the heat.

The leaves and flowers of Anise Hyssop have a delightful licorice (anise) flavour. This herb is primarily used as a tea, often in combination with verbena, chamomile and various mints. Can also be used as a substitute for true Anise. The flowers are edible and make an excellent garnish, fresh or dried.

Position: Full Sun. Moderate frost tolerance.

Height: 2 metres

Care Tips: Prune back annually after flowering to keep Anise Hyssop neat and controlled. Regular applications of liquid fertiliser such as Ecovital will keep this beautiful herb looking its best.
