Sometimes referred to as Licorice Mint, Anise Hyssop is a tough herbaceous perennial plant with purple-blue anise scented flowers in late summer.ย A beautiful feature in the garden when many other plants may be struggling in the heat.ย ย
The leaves and flowers of Anise Hyssop have a delightful licorice (anise) flavour.ย This herb is primarily used as a tea, often in combination with verbena, chamomile and various mints.ย Can also be used as a substitute for true Anise.ย The flowers are edible and make an excellent garnish, fresh or dried.
