Hydrangea macrophylla – ‘Blushing Bride’

A lovely hydrangea with white flowers in spring that, depending on the pH of your soil gradually develop either a pink or blue tinge towards to end of the flowering season. For a pink blush you need to have a more alkaline pH and for a blue blush a more acidic pH is required. It is excellent for a specimen plant in a pot or as a hedge or mass planting in the garden and will grow to 1.8m tall and 1.8m wide. In Perth it does need protection from full sun and hot winds and should be planted in a sheltered partially shaded position in moist well drained soil.
