Hakea petiolaris – ‘Sea Urchin Hakea’

A tall shrub/small tree with an upright, spreading habit. Sea urchin-like flowers appear through autumn and winter. Plant in larger gardens as a feature specimen, as a screen, or even as a street tree. Attractive to insects and native birds.

Size: 2-9m high x 2-6m wide

Flower: Creamy-purplish flowers, large globular clusters

Foliage: Pale grey green, broadly obovate

Flowering season: Autumn – winter

Plant into well drained, improved soil in an open, full sun to part shade position. Prune to encourage a dense growth habit.
