Gardenia augusta – ‘Jupiter’

‘Jupiter’ is a lovely small evergreen shrub growing to 1.5m high and 1m wide with scented white flowers in spring and summer. It needs acidic soils, so before planting improve the soil with organic matter.  To ensure best flower display and lots of healthy green growth make sure to fertilise regularly and keep the plant mulched during the warmer months to help keep the roots cool and moist. ‘Jupiter’ looks great as a hedge, in a pot or as a feature tree due to its lovely deep green leaves and amazing scented flowers. Unlike many gardenias it is suitable for sunnier positions and they are dry tolerant once established but will still appreciate regular watering.
