Furcraea foetida – ‘Mauritius Hemp – Jetstream’

A very hardy tropical evergreen with upright green succulent leaves growing to 1.5m tall and 1.5m wide. It is excellent as an architectural plant. It needs well-drained soil and a position in full sun to part shade but sheltered from strong wind and frost. It is quite drought tolerant and should not need extra watering through the summer months however if you notice the leaves start to wrinkle in summer it would benefit from a deep soak. It produces a stunning flower spike at the end of its life and off this spike it will produce pups that can be propagated to replace the plant.
