SIZE: Grows up to 1m H x 1.5m W

FOLIAGE: Firm strappy green leaves

FLOWER: Blue-lilac flowers and purple berries are arranged on a tall spike in Spring and Summer

POSITION: Tolerates full sun to part shade and requires well drained soils

USES: Mass plantings, rockeries, narrow spaces, or as a textured understory around large trees. Berries can be eaten raw, and are sweet and juicy though slightly gritty. Roots can also be eaten – pounded and then roasted. Flavour is starchy

COMMENTS: Flax blueberry lily is generally free from pests and diseases, resistant to drought and frost and recovers quickly from fire.
