Echinops is a bold statuesque plant with steel blue, globular flowers on strong stems. A clump forming perennial which produces large, deeply divided, grey leaves. Very striking.

Position: Sun and good drainage are preferred. Will grow in poor soils.

Flower: The spherical blue flowers, made up of many tiny florets, appear in late summer. 

Foliage: Grey leaves

Size: 1.2m H x 60cm W

Uses: Suited to cottage or Mediterranean style gardens. Flowers are good for cutting and drying.
