A hardy shrub or small tree that produces small green fruit. It is native to inland desert regions in QLD, NSW and SA.
Position: Full sun, plant on its own as it does not like root competition
Size & Habit: 3-6m H x 2-4m W, upright shrub, can be thorny
Flower: White, sweet scent, spring
Fruit: Grape sized, lime flavour
Skin: Green to yellow, thin
Cropping: Warmer months of the year, pick only ripe fruit. Ripe fruit will easily come away from the stem
Harvest/Maturity: 2-3 years

Uses: Jams, jellies, adding flavour to baked dishes, syrups, flavouring seafood and poultry dishes, The fruit freezes well so can be stored until the harvest is big enough to use.
